By now everyone should have received the postcard requesting candidates for the upcoming elections. This information was also in the Newsletter mailed out last month. There are Two(2) positions open for election and the board is currently looking for interested parties to complete the open board position. Cory Neitzel has volunteered his time to the Woodland Oaks Board of Directors for the last year however due to his work load he has now had to resign. Per your By-Laws it is the boards responsibility to appoint a resident to this position. The board is open to volunteers! The position will only be to complete the remainder of Cory's term of 2 years.
You may have noticed that on the 2015 budget there is a line item marked as Drainage Expense. This project is in regards to the ditch that runs North to South from Brown Bark to Woodland Oaks Drive between the Pool and Lift Station and behind the homes between Gunnison and Hinsdale. The work to clean out this ditch is marked to begin on September 17th if weather permits. We are hoping this will help going forward with drainage and mosquito infestation. If the ditch in front of your home is in need of repair that would be the responsibility of the county and you can make those requests by calling Commissioner Riley's office at 281-259-6492.
And finally the announcement we have all been waiting on. The Montgomery County Commissioners court approved the Sign Easement at the August 24th Commissioners Court and the association was given the go ahead to begin the sign on the North side of Woodland Oaks Drive. This sign will also feature a marquee for association announcements. We have given the sign company the go ahead to begin construction when the weather and scheduling allow. The sign on the south side will begin as soon as construction of the gas station is in place. Thank you to everyone for being so patient while we worked thru this process.
We hope everyone is having a great back to school year and we ask that everyone take consideration when driving thru the neighborhood as there are extra kiddos out now catching the bus.
Have a Great Week,
The Woodland Oaks Board of Directors
